Not the best solution but you don't have to get off the couch to do it.

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

Still praying that someone can figure out how to get Hulu video to play cleanly on the AppleTV. That would be amazing!
Look at the specs. For Mac you need to have an Intel machine running Silver Light. Granted that the ATV falls into the first requirement. Silver Light requires a minimum of 512MB of RAM. The ATV only ships with 256MB of RAM.

If you're familiar with Microsoft, then you know they are very messy with their work. Usually ending up with bulky programs that are intensive and slow at best.

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

It sounds like you have all of the key issues on that list.

I'll be watching for the announcement of the next release this week very closely !

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

Great,

Good to see that you are going to make progress.

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

sorry you feel this way. we know it has some issues (as the original post pointed out, we are working on them), but the experience you are describing is far from what we've been hearing so far.

please try to do a complete reinstall of boxee.

1. restore to factory - menu+minus at boot time, language selection, restore.
2. update to latest atv
3. create a new atvusb stick getting latest and greatest from http://code.google.com/p/at...
4. patch atv, update launcher, update boxee

contact me at tsella boxee tv for any assistance.

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

this is a known issue (sadly). we are looking to solve it by beginning of next year (that's not too far away, i hope..)

Re: boxee blog » week of Dec 15th - bug fixing version

This latest release is horrific. Aside from the black screen and having to kill multiple PIDs of dropbear and XBMC that seem to be orphaned, my vide to audio sync is worse than ever. Playing an avi file that isn't 720p throttles my CPU to 90-100% the entire time. As of the last version "menu" takes you to the main screen. "Hold Menu" takes you up one level. I can't tell you how many times I've quit using boxee out of frustration.
