i would totally do it if it werent already hard enough for me to get away for the adult internet convention i'll be in town for on the 12th.
Although I would be a good punter of the product
I would love to promote the product/service.
Best
Something happened when I encoded it so it looks like it's a lot longer than 60 secs but it's just a blank screen after the 60 second mark. I'm going to upload it fixed right now.

Anyway, if you'd like some local help, lemme know.
Here's the thing. Ars Technica just pronounced the HTPC dead in an opinion column. Other things have taken it's place such as set top boxes, cable options, video game consoles, on demand services, that kind of stuff.
Boxee tears a hole in that theory. See the hardware had always been there, but the software was always limited. Now we have an option, we have an engine. The web 2.0 services like youtube and hulu can finally be used all in the same place, and will soon be fully featured. The content you have at home is at your fingers too like the dvd collection that you ripped on to your home pc.
There's more to it now with the social aspects of the software coming into play. Watching TV isn't a lone activity anymore. You're joining in with other people, telling your friends about it and i'm interested to see what else.
I'm interested in this and love tech stuff but am not too familiar with Boxee. I'll try to get myself up to speed quickly with some online research and put together an audition video before Sunday. Might be tough as I have to finish painting my apartment by then, too. Argh! Please take a look at some spokesmodel work I did for Dotster. A clip of my audition is in in the New York 1 video.

I'm already committed to booth babe duties in another booth, but would love to meet the team and maybe buy you a drink or two.
Here is my video pitch: http://vimeo.com/2705221
Sorry could not get either my plasma or my MBP in the video, lighting and camcorder setup problems! Dont have much time either, leaving to Tahoe in couple of hours for the weekend.
I would love to have this opportunity to promote Boxee at CES. At the moment I am at home from College (school is where i have my HDTV) but will be there later today. Unfortunately I do not know if I will be able to find a video camera once im up there (Im coming back a day early). Would it be possible to send in a video of me simply telling what I love about Boxee and then sending in more of a presentation video if I find a camera later?
I would just love to have this opportunity to show and promote Boxee at CES and show everyone at CES that I am enthusiastic about Boxee and everything it stands for.
here is the video on me just expressing what i think makes Boxee great.

I'd love to attend CES if you pick me! Thanks for your time. Jon
When your in customer service you learn that taking a few minutes to connect with customer rather than sell them is the most important part of your job. It builds a company character and personality that people relate to.
If i were to go on this trip, i'd be excited just to meet some of the people who're going to be there. To get a glimpse of Olivia and Kevin from AOTS, and get to see some booths that are set up, not to mention Its Vegas! That'll be cool. But the people I'm really interested in talking to are the Joes doing some of the same stuff as I am, trying to get a foot in the door at a developing company or work their way through college.
Thanks Guys

if you dont need help at least email me where you will be at so i can come say hi. thanks
I truly believe this product although tagged with Alpha is ready for Prime Time. It is a solid add on to the Apple TV and my Mac. I use it almost everyday watching old shows that I grew up through HULU.com. Not only is the gateway to Hulu make this a great media center but some of the other sites that serve content benefit from this service. I've found several webcast that I may have never found if it wasn't for Boxee. It's pre-loaded with other great content providers as well not all of them on the main stream market.
Also the creators of Boxee have been easily accessible through media outlets such as Twitter (outlawjn on twitter). I've had good customer relations with you guys on there. Always a prompt response to any question I may have. As far as I'm concerned you guys are up there with Apple when it comes to customer care.
Anyways here is the link to my video. Sorry for the crappy lighting. I shot this with my iSight Camera on my MacBook Pro.

Five reasons I'm perfect for the job:
-I've always wanted to go to CES
-I love bringing others joy in the form of free tshirts
-I have a gadget addiction and CES is just what the doctor ordered
-As a social app, the more I lead to use Boxee, the better my experience
-Boxee makes Front Row cry

Sorry about the length and lack of Boxee in the background - I'm out-of-town with intermittent net access and only had time for one take on a borrowed webcam. In any case, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Boxee and I hope my PASSION came through in the video.
Some background - I'm a college student on break who would be floored to go to Vegas to support a product I regularly use on my MacBook (and some used Apple TVs purchased just to run Boxee!). I've staffed booths at other conventions in the past (though nothing the size of CES) and know how to approach people walking by and getting them interested in a product. I'm a friendly and outgoing guy, and I usually serve the role of explaining new technologies to Luddite friends in an easy-to-understand manner.
Long story short, I love to use Boxee and I know how to "sell" a product, at large events and to regular people. But most of all, I would love to meet the Boxee team and support one of my favorite new tech product.
Thanks for the opportunity and, no matter what you decide, best of luck at CES!
Well, here's my video that tells a bit about Boxee. Sixty seconds is not enough time to show off all of its awesome features, though! But CES is big, and I know we've gotta keep the pitch short. So here's my best:

I live in the Los Angeles area and I love the concept of Boxee, and how it organizes everything so intuitively. So many other programs have tried, but only Boxee has done it well. Good luck at CES, guys!

Quick pitch on "why me?":
Have been using boxee for about a month and love it. I am on an iMac mini connected to big screen and use a wireless mouse. Going to build a Ubuntu box in a few weeks.
I am an Advanced Toastmaster. Have presented other technical offerings at events around the USA for over 10 years, including Vegas and Reno. Been active in Open Source Software since consulting at Lexis-Nexis in 1996.

However, my wife helped me make the following and this is the video I would like to use for consideration: http://www.vimeo.com/2719079
About myself:
29, Husband and father of 3. Boxee is central to our home entertainment center, and both my 7 and 4 year old know how to use it. I am a geek, but I can easily talk about technology and gadgets with all types of people, young and old. I already have a Boxee tee because I submit error logs and file reports and I was rewarded by a Boxee developer for doing so. I twitter often and already promote Boxee to my followers, co-workers, family, and friends. I love Boxee and I want to help share it with others at CES.
Thank you.
This morning my roommate came back so I was able to film in front of a tv with Boxee!
I would be perfect for attending CES with you because I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Boxee! I have sales and customer support experience so I know how to connect to a potential user and portray to them how they can use Boxee in their everyday life. I can also show them how easy it is to use while having fun and keeping things upbeat so people will stop by and get pumped up about Boxee as much as we are.
A little bit about me:
Im a College Student majoring in computer science. I wanted to become a software developer because I (like yourselves I'm sure) have a passion for creation. I love to see a problem and solve it in a matter that best fits what the target audience is looking for. Although I am just getting started, I think it is that passion behind the product which is what makes it what it is. This shows in Boxee. From its ease of use to your connection with the customer base and what they want out of Boxee.
For the Boxee team and all current and future users of Boxee I would like to promote it at CES with you. I think it will be a very exciting experience and a great opportunity to expand the customer base. I want people leaving convinced that the moment they go home, that they get Boxee. I want them to not only download it, but to realize how beneficial it is for them, how easy it is to use, and how anyone can enjoy it (not just the computer crowd).
I hope you enjoy my abridged pitch of Boxee and I can join you at CES.
Thank You for the opportunity!

Youtube was taking forever... so i went with Vimeo. I apologize if it isnt up at the moment you click it. This is meant to replace my first video.
boxee has forever changed the way I interact with media. I discovered this software a couple months ago, and am now running it on Mac OS X with great success. I cannot impress enough the passion AND experience that I possess for boxee. Download it now at http://boxee.tv, and experience tomorrow today.
I can guarantee that I would be an invaluable asset to boxee at CES. In approximately sixty seconds, this video merely taps the forefront of my boxee knowledge, while also demonstrating the deep passion that I have for this software. I have attended trade shows in the past and would love to have the honor of being a member of the CES 2009 boxee team.
Thank you!
Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring, I'd love to pitch in and help pitch Boxee! I only just came across the contest an hour ago, so I didn't have much time to whip it together, so I apologize for its shoddy nature.
A little about myself, I'm a professional IT technician in New York City and left Apple this summer to head multimedia technology work for a series of large music tours. At Apple I dealt with customers every day in both consumer and enterprise capacities, discussing both fields of technology (again with a focus on multimedia) with everyone from novice computer users to IT admins for Fortune 100 companies. I love talking tech with people of all skillsets and love Boxee to death, so please take a gander at my video below. Thanks!
